Alan Moore manufactures garments for his fashion label, ten30design, just outside of Glasgow. We interviewed him and got the chance to visit the factory, who generally specialise in traditional kiltwear and tailoring.
Alan shows his passion for using Scottish textiles and goes on to explain a reality of working with Scottish Industry, that isn't always for everyone. "Scottish manufacturing isn't absoulutely fantastic. Alot of manufacturers in Scotland don't shout about what they do...so it's hard to find them."
He adds some advice for new designers looking for factories and suppliers, such as the importance of building a working relationship with a producer.
The Make Works Case Studies are part of building insight and debate around local manufacture in Scotland.
